How Do Dog Years Compare To Human Years?
Do you often wonder how old your dog would be if he/she were human? Well, I did some research into the different stages of a dog's life (how fast they age at various points) - and here's what I came up with.
The following chart is a fun, general estimate. Ages will vary from dog breed to dog breed.
So take it for what it is - not scientific - just averages when comparing a wide variety of dog breeds.
Some breeds live longer than other breeds. Usually the smaller breeds such as Chihuahuas live longer than larger breeds such as Great Danes.
Many researchers say that there is a correlation between a dog's weight and his or her life span. The heavier a dog is, the shorter the life-span.
So you might want to add or subtract a couple of years from the following chart depending on the size of your dog.
| Age in Dog Years | Age in Human Years |
|---|---|
| 6 Months | 8 Years |
| 1 Year | 14 Years |
| 2 Years | 20 Years |
